We’re looking for a talented data scientist to join our team and help us revolutionize the way machine learning models are built and deployed at scale in large enterprises.

What You'll Do:

Data scientists at Open Data Group work to give our clients insight into how to best utilize their data to make decisions. We educate our customers on best practices regarding model development, deployment, and then improvement. We work collaboratively with our software engineering team to improve our product offerings, and we collaborate within the data science team to drive our business forward. This position may be either on-site (downtown Chicago), or remote.

How You'll Do It:

Data scientists at Open Data Group interface with clients across a variety of verticals, taking a rigorous and statistically grounded approach to solving quantitative problems ranging from predictive maintenance to natural language understanding. Our polyglot team embraces whichever technique, language, tool, or framework is appropriate for the problem at hand. Our team’s collaborative atmosphere emphasizes cross- disciplinary teamwork and learning, including biweekly seminars and other opportunities for growth.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (such as mathematics, statistics, physics, or computer science), or equivalent experience
  • Strong programming background in R or Python
  • Enthusiasm for independent research and discovery
  • Great oral and written communication skills
Nice To Have:
  • Prior consulting experience in machine learning or predictive analytics
  • Experience using SQL and other database technologies
  • Experience with deep learning stacks (Keras+TensorFlow; PyTorch)
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems
  • Experience programming in Go, Erlang, or Scala
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Experience with distributed computing technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or H2O
